AWP treats all post and pole product in strict accordance with American Wood Protection Association Standards. Raw post and pole stock is first milled, measured and graded then dried to industry standards. Prepared stock is loaded into an autoclave where the product will undergo a multi-staged treatment process infusing either a CCA or Creosote solution. This process involves phases of applied pressures of up to 150 psi and a series of vacuums. The end product is then tested and measured for necessary treatment by taking borings from the material and testing in an analyzer (x-ray fluorescence spectrometer) that indicates the amount of preservative that the product has retained. Product is temporarily stored in a confined area until it is drip free. Finally, they are placed in inventory where they wait for shipping.
